Avicularia juruensis (Peruvian Pink-toe) Bulk
Avicularia juruensis is a striking arboreal tarantula native to the western Amazon Basin, admired for its deep green-blue iridescence and contrasting reddish abdominal hairs. Often confused with Avicularia avicularia, this species can be distinguished by its denser leg setae and subtle purple sheen under light. In its natural environment, A. juruensis occupies the mid to upper canopy of tall rainforest trees, weaving dense silken retreats in tree holes, under loose bark, and among epiphyte roots. It prefers humid but well-ventilated areas with heavy nightly dew formation and consistent warmth. This elegant species is moderately fast-growing and exhibits calm, shy behavior, making it ideal for display enclosures with vertical space and naturalistic foliage.
