The Burgundy Goliath Bird Eater is known for its generally defensive temperament. While not aggressive, it can be skittish and may display defensive behaviors if threatened. A spacious terrestrial enclosure with a deep substrate for burrowing, along with hiding spots, is essential. UVB lighting is not necessary for this species.
This tarantula exhibits a fast growth rate, reaching an impressive adult size of up to 11 inches in leg span. With proper care, it can live up to 15 years in captivity.
