25 years strong and counting...
Northwest Zoological was born over 25 years ago from a passion for tarantulas.
Through the years, Alex Orleans, President, has grown the company to be one of the major exotic animal distributors in the industry.
Looking ahead, he is laser focused on bringing new ideas and solutions that have a significant positive impact for both the pet store and the pet owner. For Alex, it has always been about the animal first and he is committed to raising the bar for animal quality and products.

Casabronia Lizard Farm - "Dragons of the Trees"
Our captive bred Mexican Alligator Lizards, Abronia graminea, are born and raised at our very own breeding facility outside of Mexico City, Mexico. Considered an endangered species, these lizards can be found in the wild in limited numbers at high elevations in the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca mountains amongst bromelids in cloud forest environments.
Born a grey to light tan color, Abronia grow into their gorgeous adult colors such as bright emerald green, yellow around their eyes and jaws, and blue highlights. Females can even display vibrant orange colors. These tiny ‘dragons of the trees’ have scales resembling an alligator with especially unique scale patterning around the head.
Northwest Zoological has been a fantastic partner! Their quick shipping, excellent customer service, and our representative Meredith’s responsiveness make them a pleasure to work with. Their Grab n Go tarantula kits have been a great addition to our stores, making invertebrate keeping more accessible and approachable for beginners!

I just wanted to write and let you know how impressed I have been with the animals we have gotten from your company! The health and overall appearance and temperament of the reptiles have been a dream, and you should be very proud of the standards you hold! I am so glad that we are able to order from you!

We've been doing business with Northwest Zoological for years, and unfortunately, we have nothing but good things to say about them. Trust me, we've tried to find something wrong. Their animals are consistently healthy, beautiful, and top quality. Their selection is fantastic, their prices are fair, and their customer service is outstanding. It's kind of annoying.
Meredith handles customer care, which is a fancy way of saying she spends her days dealing with people like us while somehow maintaining a sense of humor. She's funny, responsive, and always a pleasure to work with.
Then there's Alex, the owner. Alex is a man of few words. But he's a genuinely great guy, runs an outstanding business, and always takes excellent care of us.
