Brachypelma hamorii (Mexican Red-knee) Bulk
Brachypelma hamorii, the Mexican Redknee Tarantula, is one of the most recognizable and beloved tarantula species in the world. Endemic to the Pacific coastal foothills of Guerrero and Colima, Mexico, this species epitomizes the calm temperament and vivid coloration associated with the Brachypelma genus. Its glossy black body, vibrant red-orange leg joints, and tan carapace with a central black triangle make it a true showpiece species. In the wild, B. hamorii inhabits semi-arid scrublands and tropical dry forests, constructing silk-lined burrows under rocks and roots where humidity remains stable despite the arid surroundings. A slow-growing but exceptionally long-lived species, it spends much of its life near the burrow entrance, emerging at dusk to feed. Known for its gentle disposition, B. hamorii is ideal for display and beginner-friendly collections, thriving in captivity under moderately dry conditions with deep substrate, stable warmth, and occasional misting during seasonal wet periods.
