Yellow Toad
The Yellow toad (Incilius luetkenii) is a species of toad in the family Bufonidae. This toad is native to central Costa Rica to southern Chiapas, Mexico (including Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala), as well as dry interior valleys of Guatemala and Honduras.
Males are typically brown or green outside of breeding season, but briefly turn a striking bright neon yellow for just a few hours to days during explosive mating events triggered by the first heavy rains of the rainy season.
Females are larger (snout-to-vent length ~3 - 4") and generally dark brown, olive, or rusty with a broad yellow middorsal stripe. Nocturnal and terrestrial; they emerge from dormancy to congregate and breed in temporary pools, streams, and ditches.

Captive Bred Only
Captive-bred animals generally are healthier and make much better pets than those collected in the wild. The species that captive-breeding efforts are dedicated to are generally better choices for captivity. Captive-bred animals maximize the opportunity for your customer's success and enjoyment of a thriving hobby. We do not keep or sell wild-caught herps and as a result our animals are not exposed to the potential illnesses and parasites of wild-collected specimens. We are captive-breeders and support captive-breeders. We ask that you do as well.
If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact us. We'll get back to you as soon as possible, within 24 hours on weekdays.
