Shipping & Returns

Below are some common questions about shipping, returns, and exchanges

DELIVERY & FREIGHT

ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY MONDAY 12 NOON FOR TRUCK DELIVERY ON WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY DELIVERY SCHEDULE:We deliver orders in our climate controlled trucks to most customers on a precheduled Wednesday or Thursday delivery day excluding holidays. We can give an approximate delivery time based on previous weeks, but cannot guarantee an exact time. Please contact our office regarding the delivery schedule to your location. Holidays or unforeseen circumstances may change your delivery day or time. You will be notified as quickly as possible about any schedule changes. For stores located outside our service area, we offer delivery
using approved animal delivery couriers. If you receive your delivery outside of business hours or meet our driver, please ensure that you can be reached by telephone and are waiting on our driver. Please provide our office with information on how our driver can access your store when it is closed. Our drivers cannot wait more than a short time before they will be instructed to continue on to their next stop and cancel your delivery.

AIR FREIGHT

We service customers in our 5-state region: Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho via Alaska Airlines as well as out of region states anywhere Alaska Airlines services in the United States. Air freight charges are determined by location and order size, and additional charges are assessed for live animal transport bins and insulated boxes & dry ice (frozen rodents).
Please contact our office for a quote. We currently drop air freight orders off on Wednesday night for Thursday arrival.

UPS/FED EX SHIPPING

We ship Feeder Insects and Frozen Feeders on Mondays, and Herps ship Tuesdays and Wednesdays via UPS orFed Ex. When placing an order, please request which carrier you prefer. Additional charges will be necessary for winter packing (heat packs, double boxes) of Feeder Insects and Herps. There are additional charges for dry ice and styrofoam for all Frozen Feeder orders shipped via UPS. Products are packaged for shipping in predetermined increments. Any special packaging requests may incur additional fees.

FREIGHT ZONES

All truck delivered orders incur a flat freight charge regardless of order size or amount. Please refer to the zone map at right for the delivery fee assessed in your area. This zone map provides general rate information, but delivery outside of our established routes or courier deliveries may require additional charges. Please contact our office for exact rates.

Order Deadline

To maximize our efficiency and provide you with exceptional service at competitive pricing, all truck delivered and air freight orders are due by 12 p.m. on Monday(Holidays may alter the order deadline and we will communicate any changes several weeks prior). We cannot guarantee we will be able to fill any orders or make any changes or additions received after this deadline. We ship UPS/Fed Ex orders Tuesday and Wednesdays.

Payments

Payment is due prior to shipping/delivery. We accept all credit cards and PayPal. Alternate payment methods must be approved in advance by the accounting manager.

Order Minimums

For truck delivery, there is a $100 minimum order, exclusive of freight charge. In region air freight orders have a $100 minimum. Out of region orders (outside of 5-state region: WA, OR, AK, MT, ID) require a $500 minimum purchase.Orders shipped via UPS or Fedex are not subject to these minimums.

Transport Bins

All mammals and birds are truck delivered in special animal transport bins. Our policy is to deliver the animals to your store and retrieve the bins on the next scheduled delivery day or the following week at our discretion. We will charge $25 for any bins not returned to us or any bins that are damaged beyond reasonable repair.

Health Certificates

Health certificate paperwork is provided with each order. Animal orders for stores located in Idaho and Illinois must have a health certificate. There is a $20 fee for health certificates.

Summer/Winter Live Animal Shipping

Animal safety in transit is very important to us. Temperatures are researched carefully before each order ships and hot and cold packs are included as necessary. We have a NO SHIP policy when temperatures drop below 20 degrees (day of arrival low temp) in the winter and above 80 degrees (day of low arrival temp) in the summer. If the low temperatures in your area are between 20-32 degrees in the winter, we do require shipping to a UPS Customer Center or
Fed Ex Hub. Please provide an accurate delivery address before shipping.

Live Arrival Guarantee Exceptions

The exceptions to this guarantee would be nestling (pinky or fuzzy) or unweaned (hopper) mice and rats. We do require a wet mom to be purchased with every order of pinky, small fuzzy, and large fuzzy mice or rats for customers that require shipments via the airlines. For all other orders of nestling rodents ordered without wet moms, we cannot guarantee live arrival. In addition, we only guarantee live arrival for feeder insects and amphibians (not 7 days). Also we are unable to guarantee live arrival on UPS or Fed Ex shipments during the winter months when temperatures drop below 32 degrees or in the summer when temps are above 80 degrees.
