Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens, known worldwide as the Greenbottle Blue Tarantula, is one of the most vividly colored and visually striking species in the hobby. Native to the arid scrublands and coastal deserts of northern Venezuela, this terrestrial web-artist displays an extraordinary palette of metallic blue legs, a shimmering green carapace, and a bright orange abdomen. It is an active and curious species that thrives in open, well-ventilated enclosures with ample anchor points for its dense, three-dimensional webbing — which it uses both for shelter and to capture passing prey. In the wild, C. cyaneopubescens inhabits dry thorn forests near the Paraguaná Peninsula, constructing silk-lined retreats at the base of shrubs, under rocks, or within abandoned burrows where airflow is constant and rainfall minimal. Its combination of intense coloration, prolific webbing behavior, and hardy adaptability make it a favorite among both display keepers and breeders.
