Tliltocatl kahlenbergi, sometimes called the Nicaraguan Red Rump Tarantula, is a rare and lesser-known terrestrial species native to the dry tropical forests and savannas of Nicaragua and Honduras. Closely related to Tliltocatl vagans, this species shares the characteristic deep black body and reddish abdominal setae but displays a more subdued, copper-olive tone across the carapace and femurs, giving it a distinctive, earthy appearance. In the wild, T. kahlenbergi inhabits compact, loamy soils where it constructs silk-lined burrows under rocks and root systems.
