Davus pentaloris (Guatemalan Tiger-rump) 3.5" SUB ADULT PAIR
Davus pentaloris, known as the Guatemalan Tiger Rump Tarantula, is a small-to-medium-sized terrestrial species native to the tropical forests and scrublands of Guatemala, Belize, and southern Mexico. This visually striking tarantula is famous for its vivid orange and black “tiger-striped” abdomen contrasted by a dark brown to bronze carapace, making it one of the most vibrant dwarf species in the hobby. In its natural habitat, D. pentaloris occupies shallow burrows and silk-lined retreats beneath rocks, roots, and forest debris, often creating dense web layers that serve as both protection and hunting platforms. It is a fast-growing, active, and hardy species that adapts well to varied conditions. Though quick and defensive when startled, it is generally non-aggressive and highly visible—making it ideal for display. In captivity, D. pentaloris thrives in moderately humid environments with deep substrate, moderate ventilation, and good anchor points for webbing, offering consistent activity and bold coloration throughout its life.
