Bonnetina papalutlensis, commonly known as the Papalutla Copper Tarantula, is a rare and beautifully understated terrestrial species endemic to the highlands of Guerrero, Mexico. This small-to-medium-sized tarantula is distinguished by its burnished copper-orange carapace and contrasting dark legs, often accented with a subtle violet sheen under natural light. In the wild, B. papalutlensis inhabits the dry, rocky slopes and deciduous woodlands surrounding the town of Papalutla, where it constructs silk-lined burrows in compact, mineral-rich soil.
