King Snake - Florida: Albino Mosaic
The Florida Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula) is a vibrant and hardy constrictor known for its beautiful patterning and strong, adaptable nature. Native to the southeastern United States, especially Florida’s wetlands, forests, and grasslands, it thrives in a variety of terrestrial habitats.
Florida Kingsnakes are typically docile with regular handling but can be energetic and defensive when startled. They are terrestrial constrictors with an appetite for rodents, reptiles, amphibians, and even other snakes, including venomous species, thanks to their partial immunity to venom.
With proper care, Florida Kingsnakes can live up to 20 years and reach lengths between 4 and 6 feet. They require secure enclosures, a moderate temperature gradient, and a straightforward feeding routine, making them excellent pets for both beginners and experienced keepers.
